DEETS

What is it?

This new mobile iOS app allows you to manage all of your contacts and conversations—emails, voicemails, texts, and social media—from one single dashboard on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. But perhaps the best perk is that it creates contact groups, eliminating the mass-broadcast nature of social media, allowing you to send specific messages to only those who need to see them.

How does it work?

From a single Deets account, you can synchronize information for all of your contacts, create multiple relationship groups, and manage mobile communications, all from one dashboard. You create unique profiles for each group so that they only receive information pertinent to them. Your team at work doesn’t need to be alerted that your son’s soccer practice has been canceled. Here, everyone in your life is organized into relevant and efficient conversation groups, which minimizes the time spent looking at your phone. Other features include file and photo sharing, content filtering, and custom push notifications. The app is free from itunes.com/appstore and also available at www.sharedeets.com.

MINDMEISTER

What is it?

Mind-mapping software that allows you to brainstorm and problem-solve with mind maps, a graphical way of organizing thoughts and ideas into solutions and actions.

How does it work?

With mind mapping, thoughts, ideas, and tasks are arranged around a central word in order to organize information, solve problems and make decisions. The software and mobile app store your maps securely online and allow you to access your mind maps from wherever you are with the use of an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or Android phone. And you can also share your maps, allowing you to collaborate with others, without the worry of creating conflicting versions. MindMeister offers three plans: personal, pro, and business, depending on the amount of users, formats, and support you need. For more details, visit www.mindmeister.com
