I recently had lunch with Steve Etzler, CEO of BDI. BDI produces first-rate conferences for certain industries such as finance, healthcare, and marketing, among others. Steve and I were discussing the role of social media with respect to producing events and he shared some strategies that he uses to help with sponsorship and attendees. He then said, “You might not see direct results with social, but you will see a lot of assists.” I then made the analogy of social media to Jason Kidd, who is the #2 all-time NBA assist leader. While I can’t share BDI’s strategies with you, the good news is you can see them in action at www.twitter.com/bdionline
