Steve Mariotti, founder of NFTE, is NYER’s 2012 Founders Award recipient

Steve Mariotti, the founder of a nonprofit organization that provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities is The New York Enterprise Report’s Founders Award recipient for 2012.

 

Mariotti’s efforts to bring educational programs to at-risk youth through his organization, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), has been invaluable for the New York City area’s small business community. NFTE was founded in New York City in 1987, and has worked with nearly 450,000 young people across the country to date.

 

Mariotti will be honored with the Founders Award, formerly called the Advocate Award, at the Small Business Awards on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. For more information on the event and to see a list of the 2012 Small Business Award nominees, click here.
