Are You Covered?

What needs to be protected? While most businesses carry commercial general liability, consider the following lines for more comprehensive coverage:

Employment Practices Liability Coverage (EPLI)

Liability insurance for employers that covers wrongful termination, discrimination and other violations of employees’ legal rights.

Errors and Omissions Coverage / E&O

A professional liability policy covering the policyholder for negligent acts and omissions that may harm his or her clients.

Product Liability Insurance

Protects manufacturers’ and distributors’ exposure to lawsuits by people who have sustained bodily injury or property damage through the use of the product.

Directors and Officers Liability Insurance/D&O

Directors and officers liability insurance (D&O) covers directors and officers of a company for negligent acts or omissions and for misleading statements that result in suits against the company. Small and midsize private companies should consider D&O as an option if there are individuals, other than the owners of the company, that participate in running the company. There are different kinds of D&O coverage. Corporate reimbursement coverage indemnifies directors and officers of the organization. Side-A coverage provides D&O coverage for personal liability when directors and officers are not indemnified by the firm. Entity coverage, for claims made specifically against the company, is also available. D&O policies may be broadened to include coverage for employment practices liability.
